Assessment of computed tomography simulators used in radiotherapy treatment planning in Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina

The purpose of this work was to evaluate computed tomography simulators used in radio-therapy treatment planning Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia Herzegovina. A survey quality assurance programmes 24 16 facilities conducted. dedicated CT-to-ED phantom scanned at 120 kV 140 kV, obtain conversion curves as well CTDIvol. Thoracal phantoms were the standard extended field view dosimetric effect on delivery. mean age measured scanners 5.5 years. water HU value ?6.5 (all scanners, all voltages) air ?997. Extended data differ from differences between have significant impact. CTDI showed a large range values centers. Better countries is recommended. curve could be default one voltage per manufacturer. imaging can used, but should avoided regions out view.
